Celebrating World Book Day at St James’s Nursery Unit 📚
At St James’s Nursery Unit, we believe in the magic of stories and the joy they bring to young minds. This World Book Day, we embarked on a series of delightful activities to celebrate our love for reading.
Book Swap Extravaganza
Our Book Swap event was a tremendous success! Children brought in books they had finished reading and exchanged them for new adventures, fostering a sense of community and sharing. The excitement on their faces as they discovered new stories was truly heartwarming.
Book in a Box: Unleashing Creativity
The ‘Book in a Box’ activity allowed our young readers to showcase their favourite stories creatively. Using shoeboxes, they recreated scenes or themes from their chosen books, resulting in a wonderful display of imagination and artistry. This hands-on project not only reinforced their understanding of the stories but also encouraged them to think outside the box—literally!
A Special Performance by Mr. Hullabaloo
The highlight of our celebrations was an enchanting performance by Mr. Hullabaloo, the magical storyteller. With interactive storytelling, puppetry, and music, he transported our children to whimsical worlds, igniting their imaginations and inspiring a deeper love for reading. His engaging tales and vibrant characters left a lasting impression on both children and staff.
Our World Book Day celebrations have reinforced the importance of storytelling in early education. We are committed to nurturing a love for reading and look forward to more literary adventures in the future.
