The children in Year 4 had great fun using their measuring skills on the playground this week.
As part of our Titanic theme, we decided to measure the playground in metres to give us a realIstic comparison of how the length of our playground relates to the length of the Titanic. It was an opportunity for the children to put their measuring skills to use in a practical way.
The result? Our playground is approximately 55m long and the Titanic was 269m long so using division we worked out that the length of the Titanic was about 5 playgrounds long!
