Meteorologist comes to Year 3
On Monday 12th December, Year 3 had a very special visitor! Mr. Donald Ferguson, a meteorologist from the MET Office arrived in school to surprise the children and help them to learn more about the weather. The children participated in a workshop led by Donald and they got to see and learn about sun recorders, rain gauges, thermometers, barometers, air pressure and anemometers. The children asked some really interesting questions and Donald told them that he was very impressed with their current knowledge and also the questions they asked him. It was a fabulous workshop and the children thoroughly enjoyed it. Donald has now thrown down the challenge of having the children record their own weather data for a week and Donald will then compare this with the MET Office data and forward his findings to the class. A busy week of making and creating weather instruments awaits the class!
