On Wednesday 8th November St James's were lucky to be visited by Orla who talked to us about the apparitions of Mary, the mother of Jesus, to three shepherd children in Fatima. Orla told us some of the story surrounding the magnificent events 100 years ago in 1917. Several statues of Our Lady of Fatima have been blessed by Pope Francis and are touring several countries including Ireland.
Orla reminded us of the importance of praying for peace, which Our Lady has emphasised. Children in Y4-Y7 had the opportunity to place a rose at the statue and had the chance to accept the gift of a pair of rosary beads.
Several prayer services to celebrate the visitation of the statue have been arranged in the Loughshore churches over the next few days.
