Before Christmas Year 5 were looking at debates in Literacy. One debate that was on-going at the time was the Parliamentary debate about beginning air strikes in Syria.
The children were very keen to discuss the issue and debated it sensibly and maturely, giving arguments both for and against.
We decided to write to PM David Cameron to tell him our opinions on the debate. I was really impressed with the children's effort in the task.
It seems that Mr Cameron was also quite impressed. This week we received a reply in which the following paragraph featured:
"The letters are extremely well written. It is obvious that the pupils have learnt a lot about this subject and cared deeply."
The children in Year 5 were delighted with the response!
