As part of our footprints topic, year 7 conducted a science experiment based on water. We were working together in groups to make predictions and then design a piece of safety apparatus that would protect a filled water balloon. The test was that one person from each group would drop their water ballon that was protected with their design to see if the balloon would burst or not. We incorporated our numeracy into the lesson as we had a set budget to buy materials with when making our safety apparatus. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience with some groups succeeding in their designs.
