On Thursday evening 20th March the prestigious THRIVE awards took place in Mosley Mill. Representatives from schools and community groups in the local area gathered to celebrate children and young people who have been outstanding in one of the three THRIVE categories; we can learn, we can be fit and healthy, we can be connected. We nominated four children from our school and the winning nominee was Alicia Mc Guinness in Miss Lamont’s Year 2 class. Alicia was nominated by her teacher for making remarkable progress in reading and writing and overcoming her speech and language difficulties. She looked beautiful as walked on stage with her teacher. Her parents, sister and grandmother were bursting with pride. She was the youngest winner on the night to receive an award. Congratulations Alicia. We are all so proud of you!
