Choir
Here at St James's Primary School, we take every opportunity to support and nurture pupil interests, talents and relationships. Music plays a key role in brain development and helps to develop language, motor skills, emotional intelligence and collaboration skills. Our school choir currently consists of pupils ranging from Primary 4 - Primary 7 who meet every Wednesday to sing, play musical instruments and most importantly, have fun! This year the choir have participated in a range of performances including our school Open Night for prospective parents, sacramental preparations for the Sacraments of Confirmation and First Holy Communion alongside performing in the Odyssey Arena for the 2024 Peace Proms Concert. In addition, St James's offers pupils the opportunity for private tuition for a range of woodwind and string instruments through the Peripatetic Music Service. Our pupils have enjoyed every minute of these lessons, and many have even enrolled to complete their musical examination grades. Performances from live orchestras for the whole school from Nursery - Primary 7 alongside a visit from the fantastic cast of 'Yukee' whose show is on BBC Iplayer are just some of the exciting events that have happened this year to date. We have so many exciting things planned for the upcoming school year that we cannot wait to share!
